NEW Seminar on the Implementation of Artificial Intelligence in Aviation

News

ITAérea Aeronautical Business School is pleased to announce the new Seminar on the Implementation of Artificial Intelligence in Aviation, a 1-month programme delivered in e-learning modality that will start on July 1st.

The objective of this seminar is to showcase how AI begins to demonstrate the potential to revolutionize aviation by implementing methodologies and technologies that enable safe, trusted and effective integration of humans and complex machines in aviation.

The Seminar on the Implementation of Artificial Intelligence in Aviation aims to prioritize the well-being of practitioners while providing significant benefits to the organizations involved. The aviation industry can achieve greater efficiency, safety, and overall operational excellence by utilizing AI technologies and setting new standards for maintenance practices in the ever-changing aviation landscape.

  1. Enhanced Maintenance Efficiency: Artificial intelligence (AI) can significantly enhance the maintenance processes in aviation. AI can streamline the workflow by automating routine tasks, predicting maintenance requirements, and detecting faults.
  2. Safety Improvement: Safety is paramount in the aviation industry, and artificial intelligence (AI) is vital in improving safety measures. AI-powered systems can monitor and analyze aircraft systems continuously in real time, providing early warnings for potential safety hazards.
  3. Optimized Resource Allocation: Artificial Intelligence (AI) can analyze historical data and predict future maintenance needs, helping organizations optimize their resource allocation.
  4. Human-Centric Assistance: AI technology in aviation is not meant to replace human roles but to supplement and enhance human capabilities. AI systems can provide technicians with real-time information, step-by-step guidance for complex tasks, and troubleshooting assistance.
  5. Training and Skill Enhancement: AI technologies have numerous applications in the aviation industry, especially in training personnel responsible for maintenance.
  6. Data-Driven Decision Making: The use of AI allows organizations to make data-driven decisions by analyzing large amounts of data.

The coordinators of this seminar are the following:

William Aranda, PhD

More than 40 years of experience in the aviation industry, in the fields of Management, Aviation Training, Aviation English, Train the Trainer, Course Development, Business Administration, Leadership, Long-life Learning, Higher Education and Academic and Scientific Research. Mr. Aranda holds a PhD degree in Administrative Sciences, and he has participated as a Speaker at various countries of America, Europe, Asia and Africa. He is also an ICAO Technical Cooperation Consultant, in the areas of Aviation Training and Language Proficiency. He recently participated as Editor and Translator into Spanish of the book: “Implementation Guide for Artificial Intelligence in Aviation”.

Dimitrios Ziakkas, PhD

With over 30 years of work experience in the aviation industry, Mr. Ziakkas holds a Bs. Degree in Aviation Science and a PhD in History and Philosophy of Science and Technology. He is a passionate human factors and AI researcher and educator. As an EAAP Human Factors Specialist and a FRAeS at the Royal Aeronautical Society, he contributes to the advancement of the aviation profession and the promotion of safety and innovation. As an Assistant Professor at Purdue University, he teaches and mentor students in the fields of human factors, aviation, and aeronautics, and conducts cutting-edge research on the impact of AI and automation on flight operations, cockpit design, and decision-making. He has multiple publications in international conferences and journals, and has acquired skills in aircraft, flights, aviation, and management. He is author of the book: “Implementation Guide for Artificial Intelligence in Aviation”.

Training is provided using the e5 methodology, which is based in the 5 basic pillars of online training: e-learning, expertise, efficiency, employability and enhancement. The teaching centre is ITAérea’s Virtual Campus, where students may find all programme contents:
